The Udaipur unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sunil Bishnoi, posted at Pratap Nagar Police Station, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
According to ACB officials, the accused officer allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for not registering an FIR in a case related to attempted rape and molestation. The complainant was also allegedly threatened with being implicated in a false case.
Caught Red-Handed in Resort Parking
The ACB said the complainant approached the bureau with information regarding the bribery demand. After verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap operation.
The complainant called ASI Sunil Bishnoi to the parking area of Orbit Resort in Shobhagpura to hand over the money. As soon as the accused accepted the ₹1 lakh bribe amount, the ACB team arrested him on the spot.
Bribe Allegedly Sought to Avoid FIR
Additional Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar said a woman had submitted a written complaint at the police station alleging attempted rape and molestation. Instead of registering a case, the complaint was allegedly kept pending.
The ASI is accused of demanding money in exchange for not filing the FIR.
Earlier Allegations Against Officer
Sunil Bishnoi had earlier been posted at Sukher Police Station. In September 2025, allegations surfaced against him for allegedly failing to take action in an assault case involving customers at RDX Club and Bar. Following the incident, the SP had shifted him to the DSP Office West and ordered a departmental inquiry.
