Kurukshetra: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Station House Officer (SHO) Vinay Kumar red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe of ₹50,000. The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and an investigation is underway.
According to Vigilance Inspector Rakesh Kumar, the complaint came through a toll-free number from a person named Anil Kumar in Panchkula. He alleged that the SHO threatened his relatives with arrest in a civil case after a court notice was issued.
The SHO had already reportedly extorted ₹3 lakh and was demanding an additional ₹50,000. As the complainant’s relative, Sagar, was abroad, the SHO allegedly threatened to implicate his family members instead. Upon receiving the complaint, the district vigilance team was immediately alerted.
