The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the findings of an independent drive test conducted along the Manoharpur–Dausa stretch of National Highway-148 in Rajasthan, assessing the real-world performance of mobile network services offered by telecom operators.
The test, conducted over a 62.2-km route in May 2026, evaluated key quality-of-service parameters including network coverage, call drops, voice quality, and data speeds. According to the findings, Reliance Jio recorded the highest average download speed at 247.01 Mbps, followed by Airtel at 102.80 Mbps, while BSNL and Vodafone Idea posted average download speeds of 3.99 Mbps and 35.97 Mbps, respectively.
In voice services, Airtel reported zero call drops during the test, while BSNL recorded six dropped calls, Vodafone Idea two, and Reliance Jio one. The assessment also highlighted significant coverage gaps for BSNL along the highway corridor compared to other operators.
TRAI said the drive test was conducted to independently verify the quality of mobile voice and data services experienced by consumers under actual field conditions. The findings have been shared with the telecom service providers to facilitate further network improvements where required.
The exercise was carried out under the supervision of TRAI's Jaipur regional office and covered locations including Lakher, Nekawala, Bahlor, Raisar, Pawta, Sankotra, Andhi, Ramjipura and Jhera along the Manoharpur–Dausa route.
