AI Users Attempt 42% More Mock Tests and Solve 98% More Questions, NPrep Study Finds

National, India, 8th September 2026: Nursing aspirants using AI-based study plans are more active in their exam preparation, attempting 42% more mock tests and solving 98% more practice questions than learners who do not use an AI planner, according to a new analysis of learner behaviour by NPrep, a nursing education and career development platform.

The analysis compared the study behaviour of AI Planner users with other NPrep learners during August 2026. Those using the AI Planner solved an average of 468.2 questions, compared with 236.8 among non-planner users. They also attempted an average of 20.54 mock tests, compared with 14.51, and spent 15.1 hours watching video lectures, compared with 8.2 hours among other learners.

The findings point to a shift in how competitive examination preparation is being approached, with AI-based tools moving beyond answering questions to supporting planning, practice and personalised learning.

NPrep’s AI Planner creates a day-wise preparation schedule based on the time available before an examination and adapts to the learner’s progress. The tool is designed to help learners structure their preparation across different stages, using learning approaches such as spaced repetition and active recall.

The August 2026 analysis found that learners using the AI Planner were engaging more intensively across multiple learning formats. The data suggests that personalised planning may be helping learners engage more consistently with different components of exam preparation.

Among paid learners tracked across the 30 days before and after their first mock test, 86.8% showed a significant shift in their study behaviour.

Average QBank questions solved increased from 44.6 in the 30 days before the first mock to 229.6 in the 30 days after, representing a 415% increase. Average video learning hours also increased from 2.1 hours to 8 hours, a 281% increase.

The analysis also compared preparation activity among learners who qualified for NORCET with those who did not. Learners who qualified solved an average of 2,541.2 QBank questions, compared with 739.9 among those who did not qualify, a difference of 243%, or 3.4 times.

The shift towards more active forms of preparation is also visible in NPrep’s learner behaviour over the past 12 months. Average mock-test attempts increased from 23.6 to 44.2 per learner, an 87.4% increase, while average QBank questions solved rose from 833.5 to 956.5, a 14.8% increase.
The findings come as digital learning platforms increasingly incorporate personalised and adaptive tools into examination preparation. For nursing aspirants, who often prepare alongside college or employment, structured planning can help break down a large examination syllabus into smaller, more manageable stages.
