Jaipur, December 4, 2025 — Rajasthan Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 168 development projects worth over ₹12 crore in Tonk district on Thursday. The announcements were made during the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ workshop held at the district’s Agriculture Auditorium.
The minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the national Swachh Bharat Mission in 2014 to build a cleaner and healthier India. Stressing the importance of sustainability, Dilawar warned about the harmful effects of polythene use and urged citizens to adopt environmentally safe practices.
Push for Swadeshi and Self-Reliance
Dilawar reiterated that India can become an economic powerhouse only through swadeshi and self-reliant initiatives. Encouraging people to purchase indigenous products, he said such efforts support local workers and create employment opportunities.
Monthly Funds for Village Cleanliness
Highlighting government efforts to strengthen rural sanitation, the minister noted that every gram panchayat receives ₹1 lakh per month for cleanliness activities. However, he emphasised the need for strong intent and efficient management to ensure proper utilisation of these funds.
To reduce plastic usage in villages, Dilawar encouraged the adoption of ‘Bartan Bank’ (Utensil Bank) for social functions. He announced that ₹1 lakh from the MLA fund has been approved for each gram panchayat to purchase utensils, ensuring plastic-free events and protecting the environment.
The minister also interacted with panchayat administrators and Gram Vikas Officers, addressing their concerns and providing guidance. He administered an oath promoting cleanliness and the use of swadeshi products.
Zero-Tolerance Against Corruption
Minister of Water Resources, Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary, emphasised the need to instill cleanliness habits among children from an early age. He stated that in a democracy, the people are supreme, and public money must be used responsibly.
“Our government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. Misuse of public funds will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he added.
