In the Kashmir Valley, Police have arrested three persons in connection with Sunday’s grenade attack in the busy Lal Chowk area of Srinagar. Four civilians and two jawans of Central Reserve Police Force were injured in the attack on 2nd February.
Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, Haseeb Mughal said the three youth allegedly having links with the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist outfit have been arrested. He identified the arrested youth as Shakeel Ahmad Band, Naveed-ul Lateef Padroo of Pulwama and Shamshad Manzoor of the Shopian district.
Shakeel Ahmad Band is the nephew of former Peoples Democratic Party leader and three-time MLA from Pulwama, Mohammad Khalil Band who resigned from PDP and joined the National Conference last year.
The SSP said that arrested youth were students and were in constant touch with terrorists across the border.
