At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, US President Donald J. Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, will pay a State Visit to India on February 24–25, 2020—his first visit to the country.
During the visit, President Trump and the First Lady will participate in official engagements in New Delhi and Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and interact with a wide cross-section of Indian society.
The India–US global strategic partnership, founded on trust, shared values, and mutual respect, has strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and President Trump. The relationship has made significant progress in trade, defence, counter-terrorism, energy, regional and global cooperation, and people-to-people ties.
This visit will provide an important opportunity for the two leaders to review bilateral progress and further deepen the strategic partnership.
