PVR INOX Limited, India's largest and most premium cinema exhibitor proudly celebrates the successful hosting of a sensory-friendly screening of Mufasa for neurodiverse children. This initiative, part of PVR INOX's continued commitment towards inclusivity and accessibility, offered an environment tailored to meet the unique needs of children on the autism spectrum, ensuring that movie viewing was both fun and safe.
The sensory-friendly screening held at PVR INOX Cinemagic in Ambience Mall at Gurugram, featured an array of thoughtful adjustments to create a comfortable atmosphere. Lights were dimmed, but not turned off, to provide a calming ambiance, while the sound levels were reduced to avoid sensory overload. In a special touch to encourage movement and minimize stress children were allowed feel at ease and move around freely if needed ensuring a positive experience for children and their families.
As the story of Mufasa unfolded, the children cheered and expressed excitement. It was heartwarming to see their faces light up with fun and anticipation, as they were able to enjoy the magic of cinema in a space specially designed for their comfort and enjoyment.
Commenting on occasion, Ms Deepa Menon, Founder- PVR NEST and Sr. Vice President- Corporate Communications, PVR INOX Limited said "PVR INOX has long been dedicated to ensuring that the magic of cinema is accessible to everyone. We have specially designed our cinemas and screenings to ensure that we offer a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment for all. We are expanding this initiative to more cities across India inviting more people to participate in and enjoy the shared experience of watching films on the big screen."
"We are happy to partner with PVR INOX for organizing this sensory-friendly screening. It's initiatives like these that make a world of difference for children on the autism spectrum. Films provide a unique opportunity for our children to engage with storytelling in a structured environment, helping them develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills. This screening not only allowed them to enjoy the magic of cinema but also provided a safe space for them to connect with the characters and each other in a meaningful way." said Dr. Archana Nayar, Founder of Autism Centre for Excellence (ACE).
Parents attending the screening expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful approach that PVR INOX took to create a safe and enjoyable experience for their children. They were happy at the relief to finally be able to bring their children to the movies without worrying about the noise or lights.
By continuing to introduce such sensory-friendly initiatives, PVR INOX is paving the way for greater inclusivity in the entertainment industry, ensuring that audiences of all abilities can enjoy the magic of films and storytelling.
