Ahead of the new year, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced a major relief for lakhs of unemployed youth in the state by releasing the proposed calendar of competitive examinations to be conducted in 2026.
Examinations to Begin from January 11
As per the schedule issued by the Commission, examinations in 2026 will commence on 11 January 2026 with the Deputy Commandant Examination–2025. Under the current programme, proposed dates have been announced for 16 recruitment examinations to be conducted between January and November 2026. In addition, five dates between April and December have been kept reserved for other recruitment examinations to be conducted by the Commission.
Emphasis on Online Examinations
With the objective of enhancing transparency and adopting modern examination practices, the Commission will conduct several examinations through Computer-Based Tests (CBT). Key examinations to be held online include:

Assistant Electrical Inspector (Energy Department): 1 February 2026
It is noteworthy that the Commission had earlier successfully conducted 160 recruitment examinations online between 2012 and 2018.
“Golden Time” for Preparation
RPSC Chairman Shri Utkal Ranjan Sahu stated that the primary objective of releasing the examination calendar well in advance is to provide candidates with sufficient time for proper planning. He noted that announcing examination dates along with, or soon after, recruitment advertisements helps candidates prepare mentally and complete their preparation within a defined timeline.
He further added that the Commission ensured 100 percent adherence to the examination calendar issued for 2025 and remains committed to conducting examinations in a time-bound manner in 2026 as well.
The schedule of proposed examinations for 2026 will be updated periodically in accordance with recruitment advertisements issued by the Commission. Detailed examination programmes will be released in due course.
