Rajasthan will soon introduce an effective patient feedback system across all major hospitals to ensure comprehensive improvements in healthcare delivery. Under the new system, patients and their attendants will be able to share feedback on the services they receive, enabling hospital administrations to make necessary corrections and create a more patient-friendly environment. The system will also be monitored regularly at higher administrative levels.
During a surprise inspection of JK Lon Hospital on Tuesday, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, Gayatri Rathore, issued directions to implement the feedback mechanism. She said the state government is committed to making healthcare services more accessible and efficient.
“Our goal is to ensure patient-friendly arrangements in all hospitals so that patients and their families do not face inconvenience,” she said. “In the first phase, feedback systems will be made mandatory in hospitals affiliated with medical colleges. This will provide real-time insights into the challenges faced by visitors, allowing timely and meaningful improvements.”
Instructions to Improve Survival Rates
During her inspection, Rathore reviewed staffing levels, implementation of health schemes, diagnostic facilities, drug availability, and treatment processes. She instructed officials to take focused measures to further improve survival rates in ICUs and super-specialty units, especially for critical patients.
No Patient Should Be Asked to Buy Medicines from Outside
The Principal Secretary inspected the PICU, NICU, general wards, Cath Lab, CTVS unit, drug counters, and Mukhyamantri Ayushman Yojana registration center.
She directed that patients must receive all medicines and consumables from the hospital itself, as the state government offers completely free treatment in government health institutions.
“No patient should be forced to purchase medicines or supplies from outside,” she emphasized.
Plan to Strengthen Manpower and Expand the Hospital
Considering the rising patient load, Rathore instructed the hospital administration to prepare a comprehensive plan for hospital expansion and human resource augmentation. She assured that manpower shortages would be addressed promptly to optimize the use of existing facilities and improve service quality.
She also ordered that the newly constructed CVTS unit be made fully operational at the earliest.
