Rajasthan Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar on Tuesday directed officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the Rabi season by maintaining block hour power supply for agricultural and other consumers. He also instructed that effective monitoring be carried out from headquarters to grassroots levels to identify tripping-prone grid substations and feeders and improve load management planning.
The directions were issued during a review meeting at the Vidyut Bhawan focusing on arrangements for smooth power supply during the peak agricultural season.
Battery Storage Projects to Be Completed on Time
The Energy Minister emphasized that battery energy storage projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe to effectively manage peak-hour electricity demand.
He also instructed the Transmission Corporation to upgrade transformer capacities in advance to handle the increased power load during the Rabi season.
Push for Solar Projects and Feeder Segregation
Principal Secretary (Energy) Ajitabh Sharma directed officials to expedite solar power projects and speed up agriculture and non-agriculture feeder segregation works under the RDSS scheme.
DISCOM Chairperson Aarti Dogra shared details regarding electricity demand and the corresponding power supply being managed by distribution companies.
Power Availability Review
Managing Director of Energy Development Corporation Om Kasera and Chairman & Managing Director of Generation Corporation Devendra Shrangi presented reports on current and projected power availability.
The Managing Directors of Jodhpur and Ajmer DISCOMs joined the meeting via video conferencing.
