Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting of revenue-related departments and stressed that revenue generation plays a vital role in the state’s overall development. He directed officials to prepare a target-based action plan to achieve the revenue goals for the financial year 2025–26.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Excise, Transport, Commercial Taxes, and Registration & Stamps Departments.
Revenue Target of ₹1.69 Lakh Crore for FY 2025–26
Officials informed the Chief Minister that a total revenue target of ₹1,69,627 crore has been set for FY 2025–26. Out of this, ₹84,746 crore has already been collected till November. CM Sharma instructed departments to work with full dedication to ensure steady growth in the remaining months.
Ensure GST Rate Cuts Benefit Consumers
During the review of the Commercial Taxes Department, the CM said that GST reforms introduced by the Centre have provided relief to the public, and it must be ensured that the benefit of reduced GST rates directly reaches consumers.
He also ordered a special drive against fake taxpayers and emphasized the need for a strong monitoring system to curb tax evasion and ensure transparency.
More Permits for Public Transport Buses
The Chief Minister directed the Transport Department to issue more permits for new public transport buses, which will improve connectivity for citizens and increase government revenue. He also ordered strict action against overloaded vehicles, citing both road safety risks and revenue loss.
Crackdown on Illegal Liquor
CM Sharma instructed the Excise Department to strengthen surveillance in border areas in coordination with the police to prevent the smuggling of illegal liquor from other states. He also ordered strict action against illegal liquor sales within Rajasthan.
Simplify Property Registration Process
The Chief Minister also directed the Registration and Stamps Department to simplify property registration procedures to provide maximum relief to the public.
