With the objective of strengthening connectivity in rural areas and accelerating development works, the State Government is making sustained efforts across Chhattisgarh. In this direction, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary laid the foundation stone for road construction works worth over ₹6.26 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in villages Bhathanpali and Bijnakot of Pusaur Development Block in Raigarh district. These projects will significantly improve road connectivity in rural regions and give fresh momentum to local development.
Rural Roads to Change the Landscape under PMGSY
Under the approved works, a 2.25-kilometre road from NH-49 to Mohandabhatha Basti and a 1.80-kilometre road from Dhanuhardera to Bhathanpali will be constructed at a total cost of ₹3.28 crore. In Bijnakot, roads will be built from Ektal Road to Bijnakot Basti and from Ektal to Sanpakhod–Sakarbonga, with an expenditure of over ₹2.98 crore.
The Finance Minister directed officials to complete all construction works within 12 months while maintaining the highest quality standards. Emphasising quality as paramount, he said that negligence or commission-related practices would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Additional Development Announcements
Shri Choudhary announced two additional development works—₹10 lakh for shed construction in Bhathanpali and ₹10 lakh for essential development works in Bijnakot. He also assured villagers that their demand for CC road construction would be addressed at the earliest. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, gas connections were distributed to six beneficiaries in Bijnakot.
Chhattisgarh Moving Rapidly on the Path of Development
The Finance Minister stated that since the formation of the present government, continuous decisions have been taken in the interest of the people. He cited key initiatives such as payment of ₹3,716 crore as pending bonus to 12 lakh farmers, procurement of paddy at 21 quintals per acre at ₹3,100 per quintal, Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, housing for 18 lakh poor families, and the Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women’s empowerment.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is progressing rapidly on the path of development, and there will be no shortage of resources for public welfare works. The government is continuously working with the spirit of inclusive growth to realise the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh.
