Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the day marks an extraordinary confluence of events: two years of the state government dedicated to development and service are being completed, while Bhopal is also scripting a new chapter in its history. “Bhopal is moving another step forward on the path of heritage and development,” he said.
Addressing a public programme at Maharana Pratap Government Higher Secondary School in Phanda, Huzur Assembly constituency, on the Bhopal–Sehore road, the Chief Minister said that while the foundation stone for the grand Vikramaditya Welcome Gate reflects efforts to preserve the state’s heritage, the groundbreaking for a modern e-bus depot under the PM e-Bus Service Scheme will provide clean, accessible and pollution-free urban transport. These initiatives, he said, will help the Bhopal region emerge as a best-in-class example of heritage-led development.
The Chief Minister noted that nine welcome gates are being constructed in the capital to celebrate Madhya Pradesh’s glorious past and rich culture. Grand gates in the names of Raja Bhoj of the Paramara dynasty, Emperor Vikramaditya, Lord Ram and Lord Krishna are among those planned, integrating cultural heritage with modern urban development.
At the venue, Dr. Yadav paid floral tributes to Maharana Pratap and performed the bhoomi-pujan for the Vikramaditya Welcome Gate and the state-of-the-art e-bus depot. He received a warm welcome from Ladli Behna beneficiaries and beneficiaries of various schemes.
Under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, the Chief Minister announced that the Upper Lake (Bada Talab) will be deepened by removing silt, which will help address waterlogging issues in nearby farmlands. Responding to local demands, he said necessary action would be taken on the proposal to rename Phanda village as Harihar Nagar. He also announced ₹5 crore for a school building in Tumda village and the construction of a college building in Phanda.
