Digital technology and streamlined processes have made the paddy procurement system in the state more transparent, simplified, and farmer-centric compared to earlier years. Procurement centres across the state are now extensively utilising online facilities, helping farmers save time, effort, and costs.
Shri Shivnarayan Singh, a farmer from Libra Gram Panchayat in Ambikapur block of Surguja district, expressed satisfaction with the system. He said the digital process has made the sale of paddy completely smooth. This year, he received his token from home using the ‘Kisan Tunhar Token’ mobile app for his 57.20 quintals of paddy. He reported no difficulty in obtaining the token.
Upon reaching the Darima procurement centre, he experienced cooperative behaviour from committee staff. After moisture testing, he was immediately provided with gunny bags. He added that the weighing of paddy at the centre was entirely transparent, well-organised, and completed in a timely manner, which has strengthened farmers’ trust.
He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, farmers are receiving a support price of Rs 3,100 per quintal, significantly improving their financial stability. With better prices, farmers are able to expand cultivation and increase agricultural investment.
Shivnarayan Singh said he is using the proceeds from paddy sales to strengthen his agricultural resources. He expressed gratitude to the state government and district administration for the facilities being provided.
Across the state, district administrations are prioritising farmer convenience, support, and transparency at all procurement centres. Owing to digital systems and continuous monitoring, the paddy procurement process has become more seamless, simple, and accessible for farmers this year.
