Jashpur district is set to receive a major boost in sports infrastructure with the establishment of a state-of-the-art Archery Academy. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, approval has been granted for the construction of a modern archery academy at Pandrapath in Bagicha Development Block. An amount of ₹20.53 crore has been sanctioned for this ambitious project, to be funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of NTPC Limited.
A state-of-the-art archery academy refers to a facility that provides athletes with world-class training, modern equipment, and superior amenities such as hostels and indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, enabling them to perform competitively at national and international levels.
An Excellent Training Hub for Young Archers
With the establishment of this new academy, rural and tribal youth of the district will gain access to international-standard sports facilities. This initiative is expected to play a decisive role in transforming Jashpur into a hub for national and international archery talent. The project reflects Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s strong commitment to nurturing sports talent and providing athletes with opportunities to excel on the global stage.
Once completed, the academy will not only give Jashpur a distinct identity in the field of sports but will also emerge as a premier training centre for young archers from across the country. This initiative is being regarded as a significant step towards the development of sports and the preparation of talented athletes for international competition.
Financial Support through NTPC’s CSR Initiative
NTPC Limited will provide financial assistance for the construction of the archery academy under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The proposed facilities include outdoor and air-conditioned indoor archery ranges, a high-performance training centre, and hostel infrastructure.
