Shimla: BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal stated that senior leaders of the Congress party never miss an opportunity to insult the Hindu community. Bathing in the Ganga, participating in the Maha Kumbh, and honoring India’s sacred rivers—Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, Sindhu, Kaveri, Krishna, Godavari, Brahmaputra, etc.—are part of our heritage and cultural legacy. For thousands of years, the grand Maha Kumbh has been a symbol of unity amidst diversity in our nation. However, Rahul Gandhi seems intent on dividing the country—be it on the basis of caste or religion—solely to achieve political gains.
Dr. Bindal emphasized that in 1947, the country witnessed a devastating partition based on religion, which led to the sacrifice of countless lives and the displacement of millions. He warned that any attempts to create similar conditions again would not be tolerated by the nation under any circumstances.
Dr. Bindal further accused Congress leaders of adopting a dual approach, pretending to embrace Hindu traditions during elections by taking grand photos in temples, while consistently disrespecting Sanatan culture. He questioned whether Congress leaders would dare to make similar statements about other religions, their festivals, or their sacred traditions.
He expressed pride in India’s cultural heritage, highlighting how the world is now drawn to witness the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh. Referring to Congress's claims of upholding the Constitution, Dr. Bindal reminded the nation of the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi, which, according to him, was a direct assault on democracy. During the Emergency, millions were jailed, political parties were banned, censorship was imposed, and the Constitution was amended multiple times in ways that undermined the essence of democracy.
Dr. Bindal accused the Congress party of prioritizing political gains and family dominance over the nation’s interest. He alleged that Congress has toppled over 60 democratically elected state governments to ensure Nehru-Gandhi family supremacy.
Concluding his statement, Dr. Bindal contrasted the Congress party’s divisive politics with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He claimed that while India is rising as a global power under Modi’s leadership, Congress is determined to drag the country backward for its vested interests.
