Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jaipur District organized a legal awareness and tree plantation program on Monday at Government Senior Secondary School, Booj, Jamwaramgarh, Jaipur. The event was conducted under the scheme titled ‘Srijan ki Suraksha’ (Protection of Creation).
The program’s chief guests — Shri Pawan Kumar Jeenwal, Secretary, DLSA Jaipur District, and Ms. Pallavi Sharma, Secretary, DLSA Jaipur Metropolitan II — participated in planting trees along with the families of 14 newly born girls, school students, and local administration. They also tied rakhis to the saplings and distributed Green Girl Identity Cards to mark the birth of these baby girls.
During the event, Ms. Pallavi Sharma shared that the ‘Srijan ki Suraksha’ campaign was initiated by the State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, to encourage the birth of girl children and promote environmental protection. As part of the campaign, each district selects a gram panchayat where, for every girl born, the family — with support from the local community — will plant 11 saplings.
Mr. Pawan Kumar Jeenwal explained that the primary objectives of this campaign are to conserve the environment, curb female foeticide and crimes against girls, and promote girls’ education. In alignment with this vision, today’s event in Gram Panchayat Booj saw the families of 14 girls born in 2025 plant saplings, reinforcing the message of valuing daughters and supporting girls' education. He also informed the attendees about free legal aid services and various welfare schemes run by NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) and RALSA (Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority).
The program began with the NALSA theme song “Ek Mutthi Aasman”, followed by a presentation featuring the ‘Lokpal Video’ to raise awareness. The Tabar Institute performed a street play (nukkad natak) focusing on the issues of female foeticide and women’s education.
Dignitaries present at the event included:
