Story in Key Pointers:
A district-wide Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign will be conducted in Kabirdham (Kawardha) district from December 21 to 23, 2025, targeting children aged 0 to 5 years.
On Sunday, December 21, polio drops will be administered at designated booths, while door-to-door vaccination will be carried out on December 22 and 23 to cover missed children.
The campaign aims to administer polio drops to 1,13,083 children across the district.
Block-wise target of children:
Kawardha: 28,525
Bodla: 24,758
Sahaspur Lohara: 20,175
Pandariya: 39,625
A total of 942 polio booths have been set up, supported by 1,884 vaccination team members.
The campaign will be monitored by 377 supervisors, with additional district-level monitoring teams deployed across all development blocks.
District Collector Gopal Verma said all preparations for the campaign have been completed under his guidance.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. D.K. Ture stated that no polio case has been reported in India since 2011, due to continuous surveillance and mass immunisation.
Special focus will be given to high-risk areas such as brick kilns, jaggery factories, bus stands, migrant settlements, and urban slums to ensure zero missed children.
Preparatory activities including vaccine distribution, training of health workers, logistics management, wall writing, and public announcements have been completed.
The district administration has appealed to parents to ensure their children receive polio drops on December 21, reinforcing the message “Two Drops of Life” for a healthy and polio-free future.
