New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) participated in a nationwide webinar townhall आयोजित in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), focusing on addressing the challenges faced by MSMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The session aimed to educate MSME stakeholders about relief measures introduced by the Government of India, the Reserve Bank of India, and the bank itself.
Strong Credit Support Under ECLGS
During the interaction, C. H. S. S. Mallikarjuna Rao, MD & CEO of PNB, highlighted the bank’s support to the MSME sector under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS).
Key figures shared include:
- ₹8,690 crore sanctioned across 4,04,675 accounts
- ₹2,595 crore disbursed across 79,029 accounts
These measures have been critical in providing liquidity support to small businesses grappling with pandemic-induced disruptions.
Driving Awareness Through Outreach Initiatives
PNB has also scaled up customer engagement through its campaign ‘Each One Reach Ten Each Day’, under which bank officials connect with over 1 lakh customers daily, including MSMEs, to spread awareness about COVID-related financial schemes.
