Parliamentary Affairs, Law & Legal Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel on Monday laid the foundation stone for a ₹277.49-lakh drinking water project in Karniyali, located in the Luni Assembly constituency of Jodhpur district, under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Major Water Projects Transforming Rajasthan
Shri Patel said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the double-engine government has successfully implemented several historic water projects across Rajasthan.
He highlighted major initiatives including:
Ram Setu Link Project for Eastern Rajasthan
Yamuna Water Agreement for the Shekhawati region
Lift Canal Phase-III for Western Rajasthan
Jawai Recharge Project
Once completed, these projects will ensure adequate drinking water, irrigation supply, and water availability for industries.
793 Households to Receive Tap Water
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the ₹277.49-lakh project will supply tap water to 793 households across Karniyali and Chainpura Bhatian.
Key components include:
7 km rising pipeline
22 km distribution pipeline
Construction of a 75,000-litre CWR (Clear Water Reservoir)
92,000 Youth Already Appointed
Shri Patel said that during the Mukhyamantri Rozgar Utsav, nearly 92,000 youth have already been issued appointment letters.
The government aims to provide 4 lakh government jobs during its five-year term.
He also noted that recruitment for Class-IV employees and drivers has been announced after several years.
45,000 Villages to Get Recharge Wells Under ‘Karmabhoomi se Matribhumi’
Shri Patel informed that inspired by Prime Minister Modi, the ‘Karmabhoomi se Matribhumi’ initiative has begun, under which 45,000 villages in Rajasthan will get groundwater recharge wells.
Through the Vande Ganga Jal Conservation Campaign, traditional water sources are being revived with community participation, which will help raise groundwater levels and improve irrigation and drinking water availability.
Villagers Express Gratitude for New Gram Panchayat
Karniyali residents warmly welcomed Minister Jogaram Patel and expressed gratitude to CM Bhajanlal Sharma for declaring Karniyali as a new Gram Panchayat.
Rajya Sabha MP Shri Madan Rathore conveyed his greetings to the villagers over a phone call.
The programme was attended by Mahant Shri Chetan Bharti, District Council Member Shri Chainaram Patel, Executive Engineer Shri Mahendra Kirad, Shri Rakesh Bishnoi, Shri Bhallaram Patel, Shri Sumer Singh Rajpurohit, public representatives and officials.
