Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL) has successfully completed the tender process for a 500 MW / 2000 MWh (4-hour single-cycle) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The state has achieved the lowest tariff in the country at ₹2.85 lakh per MW per month through tariff-based competitive bidding. Six leading energy developers have emerged successful in this tender.
Successful Bidders and Allocated Capacity
Under the 500 MW / 2000 MWh competitive tender, six companies secured capacity with the lowest bid of ₹2.85 lakh/MW/month for a 4-hour single-cycle BESS:
Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. – 250 MW
Ultra Vibrant Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. – 50 MWh
Rama Reflection India Pvt. Ltd. – 50 MW
Make Power Solutions Ltd. – 50 MW
Bhagwati Esports Pvt. Ltd. – 50 MW
Divakar Renewable & Infra Pvt. Ltd. – 50 MW
Lowest BESS Tariff Compared to Other States
In recent tenders in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Kerala, tariff rates ranged from ₹3.59 lakh to ₹4.41 lakh per MW per month.
Against these, Rajasthan’s tariff of ₹2.85 lakh per MW per month is significantly lower, reflecting an efficient and highly competitive bidding environment in the state.
This tariff is now the lowest ever discovered in India for a 4-hour single-cycle BESS project, setting a new national benchmark.
Boost to Rajasthan’s 6000 MW BESS Vision
Completion of this tender paves the way for RRVUNL to establish a total of 6000 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems across Rajasthan in the coming years.
The planned 2000 MWh BESS capacity will:
Strengthen grid reliability during peak demand hours
Support Rajasthan’s long-term energy storage ambitions
Accelerate sustainable and renewable energy integration
A Major Step Toward Clean and Reliable Power
The corporation remains committed to promoting clean, dependable, and future-ready energy technologies. Successful completion of this tender is a major milestone in building a robust and forward-looking energy storage ecosystem in Rajasthan.
