Raipur, February 3, 2026 —
In a data-driven community health initiative, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in collaboration with the National Highways Infra Trust (NHIT), conducted eye screening camps for schoolchildren located along the Raipur–Bilaspur National Highway corridor.
As part of the initiative, 1,498 students from government schools near the Tarpongi, Bhojpuri, and Mudhipar toll plazas underwent detailed eye examinations by a team of specialist doctors. The screenings identified 102 students with vision impairments, all of whom will be provided free spectacles in the coming days.
Raipur Project Director Digvijay Singh stated that NHAI’s role goes beyond highway construction. “We are equally committed to the social and health well-being of communities living around national highways. These eye check-up camps reflect that commitment, especially towards children’s health and education,” he said.
The initiative reinforces NHAI’s focus on inclusive infrastructure development, integrating public health and community welfare alongside national highway projects.
