With the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma to make healthcare services high-quality, accessible, and easily available, recruitment in the Medical and Health Department is being carried out in mission mode. In this series, on Monday, following the approval of Medical Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, appointment and posting orders were issued for 1,699 newly selected medical officers.
The Medical Minister said that the Medical and Health Department is continuously recruiting in mission mode to overcome the shortage of human resources in the state’s medical institutions. In the short span of the last one and a half years, about 24,000 appointments have been made in both gazetted and non-gazetted cadres, while recruitment for around 26,000 posts is currently in process. On Monday, through the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, 1,699 newly selected medical officers were appointed in various medical institutions across the state. Their postings will help address the shortage of doctors from urban centers to remote rural areas.
Principal Secretary Smt. Gayatri Rathore informed that the newly appointed medical officers have been posted in district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centers, and primary health centers across the state. This will help strengthen healthcare services at the grassroots level. Moreover, positions that have long been vacant in various medical institutions will now be filled.
Director of Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma stated that all the newly selected doctors have been posted entirely transparently through the portal according to their preferences. Care has also been taken to ensure that vacant positions for doctors are filled evenly across all regions. He further informed that the newly appointed doctors must join their posts by August 26; otherwise, the appointment orders will be considered automatically canceled. The doctors can download their appointment orders from the Raj Health Portal and will assume charge online through their login credentials.
