Hyderabad:
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted an illegal Alprazolam manufacturing and trafficking network operating in Telangana’s Siddipet region, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of psychotropic substances and cash suspected to be drug sale proceeds.
According to the agency:
- 39.470 kilograms of Alprazolam was seized from a vehicle during the operation.
- Cash worth ₹85.36 lakh was also recovered, believed to be linked to the illegal narcotics trade.
NCB officials confirmed the arrest of three drug traffickers, including the alleged supplier involved in the clandestine manufacturing operation.
Illegal Drug Laboratory Unearthed in Hyderabad
Investigation revealed that the seized Alprazolam was allegedly being manufactured illegally at a secret laboratory located in Prashant Nagar, Hyderabad.
The arrested supplier is reportedly an M.Sc. Chemistry graduate who is accused of operating the illegal drug manufacturing setup and supplying the psychotropic substance through trafficking channels.
Officials said further investigation is underway to identify:
- supply networks,
- distribution channels,
- financial links,
- and potential interstate connections associated with the racket.
