Minister of State for Industries and Commerce and Jalore District In-Charge Minister Shri K.K. Vishnoi on Monday held a dialogue with public representatives, social organisations, and officials from various departments at the Collectorate auditorium regarding the VBG RAMG initiative and the upcoming state budget.
Addressing the meeting, the minister said that the state government is ensuring public participation in the budget-making process, which is why direct suggestions are being taken from social organisations and other stakeholders. He emphasised that the government is fully committed to the all-round development of the district and that the implementation of most announcements made in the previous budget has already begun on the ground.
VBG RAMG: A Historic Initiative
Highlighting efforts to strengthen the rural economy, Shri Vishnoi described the Viksit Bharat–Rozgar evam Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) Guarantee Act, 2025, introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, as a milestone and a historic initiative. He said the Act is a refined and improved version of the earlier MGNREGA scheme, designed to address its shortcomings.
Under this new law, rural citizens will now receive a legal guarantee of 125 days of employment per year. The scheme will focus not only on temporary works but also on the creation of durable assets, helping villages move towards self-reliance. The minister said transparency is a key feature of the programme, with monitoring through AI, geo-tagging, and satellite imagery, along with mandatory digital social audits every six months.
He further added that, keeping workers’ interests in mind, weekly wage payments have been made mandatory. In case of delays exceeding two weeks, strict provisions for automatic compensation have also been included.
