Department of Psychology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) celebrated Teacher's Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event was kicked off with an engaging opening ceremony and some special words of appreciation for the Department by the Head, Prof Sheema Aleem and the Student Advisor, Dr. Meena Osmany. The event was attended by all the faculty members, PhD scholars, office staff, and students of the department.
The major highlight of the event was the launch of the very awaited first issue of the annual magazine of the Department, 'Psychronicles' in commemoration of the Centenary Celebrations of Jamia Millia Islamia. It was received with cheer and applause among the people of the Department and this first issue has marked the beginning of a legacy yet to come.
The launch was followed by the felicitation ceremony of the Editorial Board and the Subject Association. Certificates were presented to the members followed by the felicitation of the teachers by the students with a token of love and respect. The cultural events included poetry recitations and musical performances by the talented students of the department. This was followed by some very interesting games for the faculty members to enjoy as a small respite from their otherwise hectic schedules. The faculty members showed great appreciation for the games and participated actively in them.
The celebrations were rounded off with the cake-cutting ceremony and group pictures. The Teacher’s Day celebrations, 2023 were a huge success with the overwhelming support and wishes of the faculty members.
