Dr. Syed Jaleel Hussain, Assistant Professor at Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (NMCPCR), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) successfully completed the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru Post-doctoral Fellowship, awarded to him in 2021. In the USA, Dr. Hussain was hosted by the Mario Einaudi Center for International studies at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York for the entire duration of his fellowship. During the course of this fellowship he conducted research while participating in numerous conferences and seminars in various universities across the United States. Cornell University is an ivy league US institution that has consistently ranked as one of the top 20 universities in major global rankings. After the completion of his fellowship he rejoined his duties at NMCPCR, JMI.
JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated Dr. Hussain for the achievement and wished him good luck for his future endeavours. The Vice Chancellor also congratulated Dr Hussain for being shortlisted for the prestigious NIF Book Fellowship awarded by the New India Foundation. Dr. Hussain thanked the Vice Chancellor for all the support and guidance.
Dr. Hussain pursued his Master’s and Ph.D. at NMCPCR, JMI. He is a University Gold Medalist (2012), an ICSSR doctoral fellow (2013-14), and a recipient of UGC’s Junior and Senior Research Fellowship (2014-17).
He has also been a recipient of the Gandhi Smriti Fellowship for Masters Programme (2009-2011). His research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals.
