New Delhi, June 6: Mrs Nusrat Jahan, Headmistress of Jamia Middle School (JMS), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been selected for the prestigious “Best District Principal Award” for the year 2023-24 by the Academic Council of Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). This award is given in the field of education for leadership qualities, academic excellence of the students, innovative and visionary initiatives for the cause of education.
Mrs Jahan received the award as she performed well in all these parameters and improved the performance of the school significantly. She has played a vital role in fostering scientific and mathematical aptitude among students, fostering their curiosity and passion for learning.
SOF, known for its commitment to promote scientific and mathematical education, carefully evaluated many nominations it received and selected Mrs Nusrat Jahan as a deserving candidate for the Best Principal Award. The SOF-selection committee was impressed by her exceptional leadership skills, transformative initiatives and the positive impact she has made on students and faculty.
On winning this prestigious award, Mrs Jahan thanked the SOF for the recognition and also appreciated the dedicated teaching staff and enthusiastic students of JMS for their pursuit of excellence. Students in her guidance and leadership performed well in the Olympiad and as many as 72 students received the Gold medals in academic year 2023-24. Worldwide 79400 schools from over 1400 cities across the 70 countries and millions of students have participated in this Olympiad examination and JMS students have performed exceptionally well in it.
Mrs Nusrat Jahan, who always aims to work in the interest of students, is a dedicated & well experienced teacher. She has been the driving force behind the success of hundreds of students and her deep knowledge, congeniality, affectionate and magnetic personality made it possible to win the award. The Academic Council of the SOF lauded the contribution of Mrs Jahan to the cause of education.
Officiating Vice Chancellor of JMI Prof. Mohammad Shakeel congratulated Mrs Nusrat Jahan for the achievement and appreciated her work as the Headmistress of the Jamia Middle School which is a co-educational institution that shares its history with the establishment of JMI.
