
On the occasion of the inauguration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark celebrations of 75 years of India’s freedom struggle, Cultural Committee office of the Dean Students Welfare, Jamia Millia Islamia organized a Tri-lingual Essay writing competition on March 12, 2021. The event received overwhelming response from the students across faculties. The topic of the essay was “India’s Freedom Struggle.” The event was inaugurated by the Dean Students Welfare Professor Mahtab Alam on google meet. Professor Mahtab Alam welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of student participation in such events.
The topic was announced on the spot and the participants were given one hour to write the essays and upload their entries. The event was very successful and about 250 participants submitted their entries in three languages. The entries will be judged by the experts in respective languages and First/Second/Third prizes will be given to the winners in each language.
All the members of cultural committee were present on this occasion. The event was co-ordinated by the convener Literary Club, Dr. Asmat Jahan. This was the first event to mark the celebration of 75 years of India’s freedom struggle. Cultural Committee plans to oragnise a series of similar events in future to join the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav that will continue till August 2022.
