PM Modi to Address Top European Business Leaders During Sweden Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a six-day diplomatic tour to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy beginning Friday, in a major push to strengthen India’s strategic, economic, and technological partnerships with key global nations.
The high-level visit comes at a significant time for India’s global diplomacy, particularly after the recent conclusion of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to deepen trade, investment, and technology cooperation between India and Europe.
In the first leg of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to the UAE on Friday, where he will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties, energy cooperation, investment opportunities, and regional as well as international developments of mutual interest.
Following the UAE visit, Mr Modi will travel to the Netherlands, where he will call on King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, besides holding bilateral talks with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.
The Netherlands visit is expected to further strengthen India’s growing cooperation in sectors such as defence, security, innovation, green hydrogen, semiconductors, and water management under the India-Netherlands Strategic Partnership framework.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi will reach Gothenburg, Sweden, for the third leg of his visit. He will hold bilateral talks with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to review the full spectrum of India-Sweden relations and explore new opportunities for collaboration in advanced technologies, innovation, sustainability, and industrial partnerships.
