Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Power Foundation of India (PFI), New Delhi, marking a significant step towards advancing research, policy dialogue, and evidence-based decision-making in India’s power sector.
The MoU was formally signed by Shri Anshuman Srivastava, Executive Director, Power Foundation of India, and Prof. Manoharan Kannadhasan, Officiating Director-In-Charge, IIM Raipur. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Himanshu Chawla, Head–Regulator, PFI, Ms. Nikita Gupta, Senior Associate–Research, PFI, and from IIM Raipur, Prof. Satyasiba Das, Dean (External Relations), along with project faculty members.
As part of the collaboration, IIM Raipur has been awarded a consulting project titled “Regulatory & Financial Impact of Electricity Subsidies on the Indian Economy.” The interdisciplinary project team comprises Dr. Pradiptarathi Panda (Assistant Professor, Finance & Accounts), Prof. Rahul Hiremath (Associate Professor, Humanities & Liberal Arts), and Prof. Rajeev A (Assistant Professor, Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques). Shri Surya Prakash Shukla, Secretary, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission, will contribute as an External Subject Matter Expert.
The partnership aims to promote joint research, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and academic initiatives in the energy and power policy domain. This collaboration reinforces IIM Raipur’s growing focus on policy-relevant research and its commitment to contributing to informed, data-driven policymaking in critical sectors of the Indian economy.
