Nifty saw selling pressure led by major FMCG and consumption names today. HINDUNILVR was the biggest loser among heavyweights. Meanwhile, selective smallcap stocks showed resilience with some names posting gains near their upper price bands.
Nifty Losers HINDUNILVR fell sharply by -2.27% to ₹2104.7. TATACONSUM declined -1.97% to ₹1155.2, while NTPC closed -1.72% lower at ₹380.25. Several other largecaps including M&M, KOTAKBANK, and BAJFINANCE also traded in the red.
Smallcap Resilience GLOBALPET continued its strength, gaining 4.97% to ₹164.75 near upper circuit. ROLLT rose 4.81% and DUGLOBAL advanced 4.24%. AURIGROW saw the highest volume at 167.11 lakh shares.
Other Moves WALPAR dropped -4.91% to ₹32.95. High volume was seen in ESSENTIA (62.41 lakh shares) and GVKPIL (22.97 lakh shares).
