The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, under its Centre for Open Learning (CFOL) initiative, has announced a Basic Course in Screen Acting to be held in New Delhi from January 21 to January 27, 2026. The seven-day intensive programme aims to provide aspiring actors with practical, industry-relevant training in screen acting.
The course will be conducted daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at NIV Art Centre and Film Studios, Neb Sarai, near IGNOU, New Delhi. A maximum of 25 participants will be admitted, with the course being conducted only if a minimum of 15 participants is reached.
Eligibility and Fees
Applicants must be Indian nationals, aged 18 years or above as on January 1, 2026. The minimum educational qualification required is Class 12 pass, although Class 10 pass candidates may be considered in exceptional cases.
The course fee is ₹9,900 per participant, excluding food and accommodation. The fee for selected participants is non-refundable and non-transferable. In case of course cancellation or postponement by FTII or the organisers, the fee will be refunded.
Selection and Certification
Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Selected candidates will be informed via email, and the final list will be published on the FTII website.
Participants who successfully complete the course with a minimum of 90% attendance will receive a participation certificate jointly signed by the Director, FTII, and the Course Director, bearing the FTII logo.
Course Director
The programme will be led by Mr. Vinay Vikrant, an accomplished screen and theatre actor, director, and educator. An FTII alumnus, Mr. Vikrant has extensive experience as Head of the Screen Acting Department at Doon Film School and as visiting faculty at leading acting institutes across India. His acting credits span popular television shows, Bollywood films, theatre productions, and OTT platforms.
