: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur organized a scientific programme titled “Stroke is a Brain Attack – Act in Time” on the occasion of World Stroke Day 2025, bringing together leading neurologists, cardiologists and critical care specialists from across the city. The initiative aimed to raise greater awareness about the importance of recognizing early signs of stroke and ensuring timely, coordinated intervention to prevent long-term disability and save lives.
Designed as an interactive learning platform for doctors, the session encouraged meaningful discussions on the underlying causes of stroke, the critical connection between heart and brain health, and the latest advances in treatment like thrombolysis and thrombectomy, that are transforming patient recovery outcomes.
The programme was led by Dr. Neetu Ramrakhiani, Director - Neurology, Fortis Escorts Jaipur, along with participation from prominent clinicians including Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Dr. B.L. Kumawat, Dr. Vikas Gupta, Dr. Mahendra Agarwal, Dr. C.B. Meena, Dr. Prashant Singh, Dr. Vivek Vaid, Dr. Trilochan Srivastava, Dr. Arun Agarwal, Dr. Pushkar Gupta, Dr. Anjani Sharma, Dr. R.K. Sureka, Dr. Priya Aggarwal, Dr. Sheetal Dhawan, Dr. Neeraj Bhutani, and Dr. Vikram Bohra, who shared valuable clinical insights and real-world experiences. Discussions focused on early symptom identification, multi-disciplinary emergency response, and integrating cardiac and neurological perspectives to ensure holistic stroke management.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Neetu Ramrakhiani, Director -Neurology, Fortis Escorts Jaipur, said, “Stroke remains one of the most time-sensitive medical emergencies. The difference between a full recovery and lifelong disability can be just a matter of minutes. The first few hours, what we call the ‘golden window’, are absolutely critical for initiating treatment in stroke cases. Unfortunately, many patients still lose precious time due to lack of awareness about early symptoms such as sudden weakness, facial drooping, speech difficulty or loss of balance. Through initiatives like this, we aim to create stronger awareness not just among doctors but also among the community at large, so that timely help can be sought and delivered.”
“Through this initiative, our aim is to engage the medical community in continuous dialogue about evidence-based practices and evolving treatment protocols. With better awareness, faster diagnosis, and coordinated care, we can prevent lifelong disability in many patients and improve recovery outcomes. The focus must be on acting in time and empowering both clinicians and the public to recognize the warning signs early.” added Dr Ramrakhiani.
