Sitamarhi/Udaipur | April 2026
In a powerful story of resilience and medical intervention, six-year-old Sudhanshu Kumar from Kataiya village in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district has taken his first independent steps after undergoing corrective treatment for congenital clubfoot.
Born with severely twisted feet and thumb deformities, a condition medically known as Clubfoot, Sudhanshu had spent his early years unable to walk, run, or even hold objects properly. While other children played freely, he watched from a distance, often in pain and isolation.
A Family’s Struggle
Sudhanshu’s father, Pankaj Jha, faced significant financial constraints but remained determined to find treatment. Despite considering loans, access to proper medical care remained out of reach—until he discovered support through Narayan Seva Sansthan via social media.
Seeing a ray of hope, the family traveled to Udaipur, where Sudhanshu’s treatment journey began.
Medical Intervention and Recovery
Over a span of five months, Sudhanshu underwent:
- Multiple medical evaluations
- Two major corrective surgeries
- Post-operative rehabilitation
After surgery on October 4, 2025, and discharge on October 12, his condition steadily improved. During a follow-up on November 12, he was fitted with specialized shoes and calipers.
It was during this moment that Sudhanshu stood up, took cautious steps—and walked independently for the first time.
Transformation Beyond Treatment
What followed was not just physical recovery but emotional transformation. From a child restricted by disability, Sudhanshu is now regaining confidence with every step.
“I will run and move forward like others,” he said, reflecting newfound determination.
His father described the experience as life-changing, emphasizing that the support received went beyond medical care, restoring hope to the entire family.
