National Informatics Centre (NIC) organized the Dr. N. Seshagiri Memorial Lecture 2019 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, to honor its founder and former Director General, Dr. N. Seshagiri, for his pioneering contributions to India's IT and e-Governance ecosystem.
The event was attended by Shri Sanjay Dhotre, Minister of State for HRD, Communications and Electronics & IT, Shri Ajay Sawhney, Secretary, MeitY, and other senior officials. The keynote address was delivered by N. R. Narayana Murthy, who emphasized the importance of quality education, research, and skill development in accelerating India's software industry.
Speakers highlighted Dr. Seshagiri’s role in establishing NIC as the Government’s IT backbone and creating a nationwide digital infrastructure. The ceremony also included a tribute to Dr. Seshagiri’s family and a screening of a film on his life and contributions.
