Bhopal, Thursday, January 8, 2026 (19:44 IST): Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla inspected various ongoing construction works at the Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital परिसर in Rewa.
During his inspection of the Cancer Unit, the Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the remaining construction work. He stated that once the Cancer Unit is inaugurated, serious cancer patients in Rewa will have access to advanced treatment locally, eliminating the need for patients to travel to metropolitan cities for cancer care.
He informed that state-of-the-art LINAC machines and other advanced medical equipment are being procured for the Cancer Unit. These modern medical devices will be installed immediately after the completion of the building construction.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the expansion work of the Super Speciality Hospital and said that it has already emerged as a major centre for the treatment of complex diseases. With its expansion, a significantly larger number of patients will benefit from improved healthcare facilities.
He further noted that the expansion of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital is progressing at a rapid pace and reiterated that Rewa is being developed as a medical hub to strengthen healthcare services in the region.
