Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday set an example of compassion and prompt governance by fulfilling the wish of a differently-abled youth to watch a live international cricket match at a stadium.
On the request of Abhishek Soni, a person with disability, the Chief Minister arranged match tickets and special seating facilities at the Indore stadium for the India vs New Zealand One-Day International held on January 18. Abhishek expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for giving him the opportunity to witness a live cricket match for the first time.
Sharing a photograph of Abhishek enjoying the match at the stadium on social media, Dr. Yadav said he felt immense joy and satisfaction seeing Abhishek’s wish fulfilled and his smiling face. “Seeing his happiness gives me unparalleled pleasure,” the Chief Minister remarked.
Dr. Yadav said Abhishek, a cricket enthusiast from a rural area, had shared a video appeal requesting arrangements to watch the match live in Indore, as he had so far only been able to watch cricket on television. The video was noticed late at night, following which immediate instructions were issued to ensure tickets and special arrangements for Abhishek at the stadium.
In his video message, Abhishek Soni had said, “Chief Minister ji, my name is Abhishek Soni. I live in a rural area and I am very fond of cricket. Till now, I have only watched matches on TV. My wish is to watch a live India match in the stadium, but I am unable to get a ticket. I humbly request you to help me.”
Respecting Abhishek’s sentiments, the Chief Minister ensured all necessary arrangements, enabling him to enjoy the match comfortably at the stadium.
