Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday reaffirmed that farmer welfare, prosperity and economic stability remain the state government's top priority. Addressing a large gathering at Gautampura in Indore district, the Chief Minister transferred ₹249 crore in Bhavantar assistance to the bank accounts of 1.34 lakh eligible farmers through a single-click disbursement.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that “Farmers are our nation’s food providers, serving the country with the same dedication as soldiers on the border. Ensuring fairness, stability, and prosperity in their lives is our core commitment.”
So far, over 4.39 lakh farmers in the state have sold 7.85 lakh metric tons of soyabean, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leading agricultural contributor.
Major Development Boost for Indore District
The Chief Minister announced ₹264 crore worth of new development works for Indore district, including foundation-laying and inaugurations of several key projects.

Dr. Yadav announced the construction of a 37 km four-lane road between Indore and Depalpur, with an estimated cost of ₹745 crore.

Bhavantar Scheme Ensuring Protection Against Market Volatility
Dr. Yadav reiterated the state government's commitment to protecting farmers from losses caused by fluctuating market prices, stating that the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana ensures farmers always receive fair compensation for their produce.
“Through Bhavantar support, we are bridging the gap between market rates and actual production value so that farming remains profitable,” he said.
Irrigation Revolution: Water to Every Farm
Highlighting ongoing irrigation reforms, the Chief Minister assured that no agricultural land will be left without irrigation facilities.
A major ₹1,538 crore barrage is under construction on the Chambal River to irrigate 27,000 hectares across 75 villages in Depalpur constituency.
Focus on expanding solar-powered pumps to encourage farmer-led energy generation, enabling farmers to power their fields, homes, and shops independently.
State Witnessing Rapid and Inclusive Development
Dr. Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh is experiencing rapid development across sectors. He highlighted Gautampura’s spiritual significance as the ancient karma-bhoomi of Rishi Gautam and announced statewide celebrations of Gita Jayanti on December 1 in honour of Lord Krishna’s teachings.
