Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot met and consoled the families of those who lost their lives in the accident caused by the collapse of Morbi cable bridge over Machhu river in Gujarat. He participated in the prayer meeting and prayed to God for peace to the souls of all the departed. The Chief Minister met those injured in the bridge accident at Morbi’s Civil Hospital and inquired about their well being.
Shri Gehlot said that the Morbi incident is an example of great negligence. He said that such a big accident should be investigated promptly and legal action should be taken against the culprits. The Chief Minister said that along with proper compensation to the victims, those responsible for negligence should be punished severely. The Chief Minister said that this scam, which claimed the lives of such a large number of people, should come out completely and the victims should get justice. He said that the investigation of this accident should be headed by the Hon’ble High Court Judge.
Shri Gehlot reached the spot in Morbi and inquired about the accident. He thanked the members of the rescue teams engaged in relief and rescue operations for the services being rendered in saving lives.
