The State Election Commission has declared the schedule of bye-elections for the posts of members of 14 urban bodies in 13 districts that have become vacant due to various reasons till July 31, 2022. With the announcement of the election schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in these constituencies with immediate effect.
Chief Electoral Officer and Secretary Smt. Chitra Gupta informed that Ward No. 3 of Anta Municipality and Ward No. 15 of Chhabra Municipality, Ward No. 5 of Bikaner Municipal Corporation, Ward No. 54 of Bundi Municipality, Ward No. of Chittorgarh Municipality. 28, Ward no. 32 of Sardarshahr municipality of Churu, Ward no. 30 of Lalsot municipality of Dausa district, Ward no. 66 of Jaipur Heritage Municipal corporation, Ward no. 2 of Jaisalmer municipality, Ward no. 5 of Chirawa municipality of Jhunjhunu district, Ward no. 5 of Jodhpur district By-elections will be held in Ward No. 31 of Phalodi Municipality, Ward No. 7 of Karauli Municipality, Ward No. 10 of Ramganj Mandi Municipality of Kota and Ward No. 21 of Padampur Municipality of Sri Ganganagar District.
Mrs Gupta said that according to the scheduled election schedule, public notice for the member’s post would be issued on November 10 and nomination papers could be presented on November 14 from 10:30 am to 3 pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 15th November and last date for withdrawal of candidature will be on 17th November till 3 PM and allotment of election symbols will be done on 18th November. He said that the polling would be held on November 25 from 8 am to 5 pm and the counting of votes would be done from November 27 at 9 am. He said that these bye-elections would be conducted through electronic voting machines.
