Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inspected the newly inaugurated Devi Ahilyabai Metro Station of the Indore Metro Rail Project, located in Gandhinagar. He paid floral tribute to the statue of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar before proceeding to inspect the metro station.
Dr. Yadav traveled from Ahilyabai Metro Station to Jhalkari Bai Metro Station and returned by metro train. During the journey, he also visited the Metro Rail Operations Control Room and reviewed technical and management aspects of the metro system with officials involved in operations. He interacted with women passengers during the ride and gathered their feedback and experiences regarding the Indore Metro Rail Project.
Accompanying the Chief Minister at Ahilyabai Metro Station were Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Mr. Tulsiram Silawat, MP Mr. Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Mr. Pushyamitra Bhargav, and MLAs Mr. Ramesh Mendola, Mr. Madhu Verma, Mr. Golu Shukla, Mrs. Malini Laxman Singh Gaur, and Ms. Usha Thakur, along with other public representatives and senior administrative officials.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the first phase of the Indore Metro Rail Project during the grand Women Empowerment Conference held in Bhopal, commemorating the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar.
In this first phase of the metro project, approximately ₹1,520 crore has been invested in construction. The Yellow Line of the metro will operate along a 6-kilometer route. The metro has a capacity of over 900 passengers and is equipped with modern, accessible, and eco-friendly transport facilities. For the convenience of passengers, advanced amenities such as lifts, escalators, AI-based tracking systems, and QR code-based ticketing have been installed at the stations.
