On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, the state Public Works Department (PWD) has approved major road infrastructure projects across several districts to improve connectivity and ease public movement.
As part of this initiative, works worth ₹38.39 crore have been sanctioned for two important roads in Surajpur district, aimed at strengthening regional transport infrastructure.
According to the approval issued by the PWD, an amount of ₹32.24 crore has been sanctioned for the strengthening and upgradation of the Bishunpur–Surajpur–Odgi road (State Highway-16). The road is a key route for local commuters and plays a vital role in connecting several habitations in the district.
In addition, ₹6.15 crore has been approved for the construction of the Jamdei–Potka road up to the Rehand river in the Premnagar विधानसभा constituency.
Officials said the approval of these road projects will significantly improve traffic movement, reduce travel time and provide safer and more convenient connectivity for residents of the region. The sanctioned works are expected to commence soon, bringing long-term benefits to local communities.
