Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Minister of State (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur on Wednesday laid the foundation for development works worth ₹45 lakh in the Govindpura area. As part of the initiative, the city’s well-known ‘Hara Bhara Park’ will now be renamed Atal Udyan, in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Addressing the gathering, Gaur said it is a privilege for Govindpura to have such a large green space. She inaugurated projects focused on the park’s beautification and security, including the construction of a boundary wall at a cost of ₹15 lakh. The move aims to enhance safety while preserving the park’s green character.
In addition, the minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a cement concrete (CC) road from Hope Hospital to Azad Nagar in Ward 64. The road project will be completed at an estimated cost of ₹30.21 lakh.
Gaur said the people of the area have consistently supported public representatives in the past and continue to do so. She reiterated that securing higher budgets and ensuring uninterrupted development works remain a top priority for the state government.
The event was attended by local representatives and residents, including Santosh Gwala, councillor Chhaya Thakur, Mamta Manoj Vishwakarma, Bhikam Singh Baghel, Surendra Watika, Pradeep Lodhi, Pradeep Parashar, and others.
