Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Saturday met three women cricketers from Madhya Pradesh who were part of the Indian team that won the Blind Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2025. The meeting took place at Samvat Bhavan in the Chief Minister’s residence.
The players include Ms. Sunita Sarathe, Ms. Sushma Patel, and Ms. Durga Yewale. Congratulating them on their historic achievement, the Chief Minister announced an incentive of ₹25 lakh each for the three players. Of this amount, ₹10 lakh will be given in cash and ₹15 lakh will be deposited as a fixed deposit.
Dr. Yadav honoured the players and their coaches by presenting them with trophies and ceremonial shawls. He also assured that the state government will make arrangements for the players’ future education and coaching.
The Chief Minister further announced an incentive of ₹1 lakh each for the three coaches—Mr. Sonu Golkar, Mr. Omprakash Pal, and Mr. Deepak Pahade.
It is noteworthy that the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team created history by defeating Nepal in the final of the Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup 2025. The team included three talented players from Madhya Pradesh: all-rounder Ms. Sunita Sarathe from Narmadapuram, Ms. Sushma Patel from Damoh, and batter and wicketkeeper Ms. Durga Yewale from Betul.
