Job aspirants have approached the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court, challenging a single bench order that cancelled 1,600 additional vacancies in upper primary school recruitment.
Earlier this month, Justice Biswajit Basu’s single bench ordered the cancellation of the extra vacancies created in 2022.
The court had also directed that no appointments should be made against these additional posts.
Aggrieved candidates from the recruitment panel have now filed a case before the Division Bench headed by Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty.
According to court sources, the hearing may take place next week.
The state government had created 1,600 additional posts for recruitment in upper primary schools, specifically in Work Education and Physical Education.
Of these, 750 posts were earmarked for Work Education and 850 posts for Physical Education, and an official notification was issued.
The decision to create these extra vacancies was challenged in the High Court on allegations of irregularities and corruption, seeking judicial intervention.
After prolonged hearings, the single bench ordered the cancellation of the additional vacancies, prompting the affected candidates to move the Division Bench for relief.
