The Chhattisgarh government has approved a ₹64.80 crore tender for the construction of roads and drainage across four residential stretches of National Highway-130A on the Bilaspur–Pandariya corridor. The approval follows clearance from Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Sao.
After the minister’s approval, the Public Works Department issued the tender sanction letter to the Chief Engineer, National Highways Division, Raipur. Local residents had been demanding improvements on these stretches for a long time, citing safety and drainage concerns in densely populated areas.
As per the approved proposal, road and drainage works will be carried out over more than 15 kilometres across Takhatpur, Mungeli, Pandariya, and Pondi. The project includes the construction of cement concrete (CC) roads, drains, and bituminous roads within residential zones along NH-130A.
The district-wise breakup includes 5.52 km in Takhatpur, 3.57 km in Mungeli, 4.55 km in Pandariya, and 1.59 km in Pondi. The upgrades are expected to significantly improve road safety, traffic flow, and drainage infrastructure for local communities along the highway.
