New Delhi: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) intensified rescue and relief operations across flood-affected states, rescuing over 5,300 people and evacuating more than 42,000 stranded residents and 268 livestock during the monsoon season.
Flood response teams were deployed in Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, with 173 rescue teams working in affected regions. Maharashtra, particularly Sangli and Kolhapur districts, witnessed large-scale rescue efforts, while teams in Kerala responded to flooding and landslides in several districts, including Wayanad.
In Karnataka, thousands of residents were evacuated from flood-hit areas, while rescue teams in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh continued evacuation and relief operations. The NDRF said its 24x7 control room in New Delhi was closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with state authorities.
