Jaipur, June 10 – Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Mr. Nitin Gadkari for approving ₹1,243.19 crore for the construction of the Jodhpur Elevated Road.
Mr. Sharma stated that the 7.633 km long elevated road in Jodhpur will be a milestone in realizing the vision of "Excellent Road Connectivity, Developed Rajasthan." He emphasized that both the central and state governments — the “double-engine government” — are committed to strengthening infrastructure and expanding transport services.
The proposed elevated corridor will start from Mahamandir Junction and end near Akhaliya Chauraha in Jodhpur city. It will allow commuters to bypass 8 major and 20 minor junctions, ensuring smoother traffic flow and saving travel time. To facilitate movement, the road will include continuous slip/service roads on both sides and 13 entry/exit ramps.
Notably, Jodhpur is part of a national highway network that includes NH-62, NH-25, and NH-125, all of which pass through the city's center. The elevated road is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion within the city.
